Lou Di Palo, owner of Di Palo Selects on Grand Street, comes to the museum with his new book Di Palo's Guide to the Essential Foods of Italy. He will talk about more than pasta, cheese and olive oil. Di Palo will also share the story of the relationships and community that form around a family run neighborhood shop. WNYC radio host Leonard Lopate will introduce the evening. In addition to stories, Di Palo will bring tastes from his store and Illy will have a complementary espresso bar.
