Noah's Ark

Where do you go for authentic Glatt Kosher meals on the Lower East Side? Where else but Noah’s Ark!

Owners Shelly and Noam Sokola were approached by Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver and community residents about opening Noah’s Ark because of the need for an area restaurant representative of Jewish culture. Thanks to Sokolas, who opened the original Noah’s Ark in New Jersey 16 years ago, Glatt kosher meals are just a walk away.

Though Noah’s Ark is praised as one of the best area delicatessens in town, the meals go beyond just sandwiches. Noah’s Ark boasts a menu of kosher favorites with a modern twist. Some of their most acclaimed dishes include Cajun chicken, matzah ball soup, the world renowned stuffed cabbage, a delectable mushroom barley soup, second-to-none burgers, and chulent.

Especially as the season of Hannukah begins, potato latkes are a staple and Noah’s Ark offers three variations: the traditional potato, along with the modern corn & scallion and sweet potato. If you are not sure of which dishes to try then book a tour at the Tenement Museum on a Tuesday afternoon and afterward head over to their buffet.

Service is both speedy and precise with nothing short of a smile for all their diverse customers. Whether you want to share in some of the experiences of the “old world,” or you’d care for a bit of entertainment with you meal on Saturday evenings (starting next month) Noah’s Ark is a one stop shop guaranteed to fill your stomach and give you happy thoughts after a Tenement Museum visit.
